The start signal has been given! On March 8, 2021, Schiedel started with the production of the flexible flue gas ducts Metaloterm XE and Metaloterm XD. Production takes place in Middelburg, Schiedel's central production location in the Benelux.
Metaloterm XD and Metaloterm XE are stainless steel flexible pipes that are produced within the Benelux. Thanks to their unique locking systems, they are fully compatible with the flue gas discharge systems of both the Schiedel and Metaloterm systems. As a result, installers and dealers in the Benelux now have a "flexible choice" for installing flue gas exhausts. Especially in the residential renovation market of the Benelux; where previously the tone was set by players from Spain, France and Germany; the launch of the flexible production line on our own soil has a major impact. Combined with close cooperation with local dealers, this development helps to guarantee sustainable and profitable growth for all parties.
XE and XD have also received an addition to the range, the Nose Cone mounting aid. This article can be used by the installer to test the passage of the chimney route for obstacles. In a shaft with obstacles or narrowed passages in offsets of existing channels, the flexible tube sometimes gets stuck. The Nose Cone is made of steel and can be reused several times making it a more durable alternative than wooden screw-on caps.

The lateral draincap has been introduced to the range to allow for the capping off of header/cascade systems, whilst enabling condensate to be gathered and drained off effectively through the standard 3/4" drain fitting.
